I dedicated 2017 to managing a design project financed by the Design Bureau of Montreal for three public libraries of Côte-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.
My goal was to reconcile two objectives :
Raise awareness about design to the public through libraries (Design Bureau)
Use a self-supported display that takes little floor space and can be seen from both sides (Libraries of Côte-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce).
As a result, under Robert Chamberot’s supervision (Section lead of Cote-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grace public libraries), I created “Tomber dans le panneau”, which covers :
18 educational workshops on design and silk-screen printing, available for different ages
The conception of an innovative and of high quality object
The fabrication of the product.
The project in details is available on : www.tomberdanslepanneau.com.
Many thanks to textile designers Gabrielle Cousineau and Catherine Lewis, to the libraries staffs, and of course to the workshops’ participants, for their contribution to this wonderful project.
